This is getting its own entry.
Because I like Mo and I’m gonna miss him next year.
He hit a nice opposite field HR pinch hitting in the 7th for Mike Lamb – Yost noticed that Phil had 4 leftys in a row in the lineup and sent his lefty, Brian Shouse in to relieve Ben Sheets, who had thrown 112 pitches already.
It wasn’t a bad move – we don’t exactly have a good bench, but Mo looked like the Mo we used to know who regularly hit opposite field doubles, triples and homers.
Mo only hit one homer in the entire month of August and it was a Crawford Box elcheapo.
If Mo confesses his elbow has been bad or his ribs were broken or some **** when the season is over I will happily stand in line to kick his butt. I got NO idea why on earth he suddenly stopped hitting in May (BEFORE he got hurt diving for that ball.)
Anyhow, Mo struck out his next AB on a 3-2 pitch waving at the exact same pitch near his ankles he intelligently took for ball 2. (bitterly) Hope he wasn’t listening to the fools complaining bout how guys should swing at 3-2 pitches to “expand” the strike zone…
