And Brian Bixler gets sent down. Matt Downs is just one of those guys that a club clings to for some reason. Whatevs. Will be interesting to see if they put Wallace at first or third – and Moore plays third a HECK of a lot better than he does first. But I’m betting on 3rd cuz unless he hits like Mike Trout, Wallace ain’t stayin with this club real too long because of Jonathan Singleton. And by the way, you think CJ was bad with the glove at third, Brett made TEN errors in 130 chances.
It sure would be nice if the Astros minor league clubs had a way to click on a transactions list.
I notice that the Hooks are facing a little lefty pitcher named Carlos Hernandez. I thought noooooo, it can’t be – and it isn’t. This one is 25, not 35.

They will switch around the new guy between 1st. and outfield……..so I expect to see Wallace at 1st. a lot. YESSSSSSS!!!!!! I know he’s happy NOT to see Carlos
in the clubhouse!
Carlos Hernandez – I thought he would be our WS #3 after Roy and Wade.
I remember Carlos..Brief flashes of promise, but injuries derailed his career and never really panned out.
He could have been the 2000′s answer to Knepper, he of the slow, slower, slowest pitches and NOW baiting speech and our favorite announcer, Jim Deshaies so I guess the Astros have sort of a tradition of above average lefties.
The reason Knepper did so well in Houston was because he got to pitch after Nolan Ryan..the adjustment from fast to super slow had to be rough on opposing batters.
Hopefully DeShaies will get his wish of one HOF vote. Heh.

– remember the young 4 – oswalt, wade miller, carlos hernandez and tim redding – seems like yesterday. tore up his shoulder diving back into base and he just couldn’t recover. what a waste.

the astros aren’t going to have a competitive team for years and years getting rid of every single player over 25 is kind of extreme. i guess they’re just gonna throw a bunch of guys on the field and see who sticks. billy beane version 2
shrug
whatever
They shouldn’t get rid of every player over 25, but the ones with decent trade value should be traded for guys that can help 5-8 years down the road…the Astros won’t field a competitive team before then, and losing a little is the same as losing a lot, except the draft position is worse.

that means 5 years of watching what we’re watching this year – it’s really lousy AAAA guys. you have to have SOMEone on the team worth watching
Jeffrey Loria would beg to disagree. Right after he begs for a new stadium, a move, more rev share money, and someone to take more salary off his hands. So, pretty soon.
It appears Carlos is pitching in the A’s minor league system. Though I’m not sure what level he’s in, I think it’s single A.
raul,
no, OUR carlos hernandez last pitched in the minors in 2010 for the rays AAA team. he’s in the mexican league this year. he’s only 32.
Francisco Cordero promptly blows it for Norris.
*Sigh*
What was Mills thinking ? Of course he wasn’t thinking.
He was probably thinking that it didn’t matter who went out there, the lead was getting blown anyway.
Nice comeback try in the 9th, though. At least this game was watchable.
Yeah I’m surprised the Astros scored that many runs. That’s gotta be a reflection on the Brewers pitching staff. Normally the Astros make most pitchers look like Cy Young material.
At least it was worth watching as you said, Neil.
mills made it clear in the post game conference that he has been ordered to use cordero – means more losing for us, so as we can make that all important major league loss record. and we’re starting a nice new losing streak too
brewers bullpen is statistically worse than ours. they’ve blown more saves but, of course, they’ve had more saves to blow
We are going to lose more regardless if cordero is used
