Dallas Keuchel has been sent down. We all KNEW this was coming the second he didn’t pitch a shutout. Seeing as how the bullpen is terrible, and there is no Ed Wade to pick up relievers on the scrap heap (betcha didn’t NONE of yall think I would ever praise Ed Wade), we have to get one of the 2 guys in the minors who can at least get SOME ML hitters out. So Del Rosario will be coming back up – Cedeno hasn’t been back down for 10 days yet.
Apparently, Matt Dominguez and his .648 OPS at AAA will be with the ML club tonight – no word yet as to whether or not he will be starting, but even though they SAY that CJ’s job isn’t at stake, I don’t never believe a word of that and neither should CJ, who should be praying that a guy who can barely tap AAA pitchers can’t hit ML pitchers at all. Dominguez is supposed to have a Scott Rolen quality glove, which is nice. But third is supposed to be a hitters position and he’s got to do more than just catch n throw.
No definite word at this second that Brett Wallace will be back up and playing at first for the rest of the year. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just call up Jonathan Singleton.
