And the Astros are hitless through 4 innings – 12 hitters, 7 K. This is reminding me of the infamous Kerry Wood game, except that Shane Reynolds pitched very well and 2 of the hitters in the lineup were bench guys. Today we have the regular lineup.
sigh
Happ was teh complete sukc – 11 hits, 1 walk, 1 HBP, 2 HR, 8 ER, 86 pitches over 3.1 innings. Left with bases loaded, Rhiner Cruz let 1 score.
This is the 3rd blowout in the past week, which does not say good things about Astros pitching, does it? We’ve lost 13 of the last 17 games – and we’re still ahead of the Cubs and Padres – which ain’t exactly saying too much, is it?
sigh
Oh yeah – and although Bud Norris has a supposedly sprained knee, and supposedly had something of the same sort go wrong on May 31 in Colorado, or was it a hip flexor – they can’t keep their stories straight – he’s supposedly gonna be fine to make his next start. You can tell a fool but you cain’t tell him much…
They’ve added Armando Galarragha to the AAA roster – you know, the guy who pitched the perfect game the ump screwed up and has otherwise, been lousy. I’m not expecting miracles.

Giants now up 8-0, top of 4th. Been a real stinker so far and the Astros have yet to record a hit so far. Happ-less living up to his billing.
It would suck to get no hit tonight..but I’ll do my best to hex the SF pitching.
Definitely another Maalox moment for Astros fans everywhere.
And a moment later a 2 run HR shot off Cruz. The gods of baseball are cruel indeed.
The Astros really stunk up the joint to the tune of getting no hit AND a perfect game by Cain.
Total K’s this series by Astro hitters so far: 28. I think it’s rather appropriate that “Happ-less” takes the loss..the entire team looked JUST that.
Cain was to the Astros’ Abel.
