Carlos Correa is a high school SS – which doesn’t mean he’s going to stay there. Wasn’t it just 3 years ago that Bobby Heck was crowing that the Astros had really snagged the top talent in the draft in Jiovanni Mier?
Yeah there is all the talktalktalk about Makeup and How Wonderful The Parents Are (you’d think we were talking horse racing or something) and How Professional He Is – all that stuff. Intersting that Luhnow said that the Astros hadn’t made the decision until 6 PM – so much for oooooooh, he’s such an obvious STAH!!!!!
I would guess that they couldn’t decide between Correa and Brian Buxton – some writer was comparing him to Willie Mays. Cmon. Not even Bryce Harper got compared to any inner circle lefty Hall of Famer, and he was by far and away the strongest consensus number one position player pick in years.
Well, here’s to the boy and here’s hoping he’s significantly more like Alex Rodriguez than Tim Beckham/Matt Bush.

I think it’s time for the Astros bullpen to change the title of their video from “The Regulators” to “The Gas House Gang” They shouldn’t have put out that video..giving them all that bad karma in the last 10 or so games.
I just hope Correia isn’t A-Rod expensive. You know..how the Rangers were on the hook for a few years AFTER they got rid of A-Roid ?

correa isn’t arod expensive because he isn’t arod talent. he went first because the astros knew they would be easily able to screw this kid out of a good chunk of the slot money. which they did.
urgh, i sure hope Correa will be better than Matt Bush. heck, i’m sure he’ll be. Batt Mush (to padres’ fans once he turned out bad) was given many chances to grow up & be good by at least 2 organizations & he threw them away. yuck.
yeah, it’s strange that Correa didn’t get sign for slot. abolish the draft & make every kids a FA.
