Apparently, Fast Eddie demanded that the Rockies give their 2 best pitching prospects and top catching prospect.
Now why he wouldn’t do that with the Braves I don’t know (and we’ll see one of the AAA guys they didn’t think much of – Juan Abreu. But Fast Eddie gots to make sure we all see how wonderful his trading Skillz are after he had 3 lousy drafts in a row – it don’t matter if they all sign if they weren’t much to begin with…)
The Rox WOULD have taken Wandy and his entire contract, but noooooooo. So now Wandy can be blamed for 4 years for being the reason the Astros don’t have “payroll flexibility”.
However, another team COULD claim him – and youneverknow…
The game is at Pac Bell tonight – one of those late starts, not sure if I’ll get around to watching Henry Sosa – Vogelsong isn’t likely to be lousy 2 games ion a row, but youneverknow.
Are people REALLY surprised that JB Shuck got sent down instead of releasing JMike? The guy who HAS to play in the OF if a lefty is pitching because Bogusevic will turn into a pumpkin if he learns how to face ML leftys.
We’ve been tied with the 62 Mets for so long now – next in view is the 03 Tigers, 43 Wins. I’m so excited…

you are a gluten for punishment.Don’t sweat wandy’s predictment.Who cares who gets blamed for what; i sure don’t.
The simple matter of the fact is that the Giants batting line up will make nearly any pitcher look like a Cy Young candidate.
They’re ranked near the bottom in nearly EVERY batting category in MLB. 30th in runs, 29th in BA, 29th in OBP, and 28th in slugging percentage. This is a major reason Houston’s been able to beat the Giants recently and it doesn’t hurt that they’ve missed the Giant’s best pitchers in Cain and Lincecum.
The Astros might be better than expected especially in the future. But I’ll knock on wood. Now if only we can jettison Ed Wade, Brad Mills, Carlos Lee and Jason Michaels in no particular order then the Astros can start going places.
Wade wanted to ask for the moon, because he didn’t like the option of only dealing with one team. If the Rox had said yes, we wouldn’t be saying anything negative, for sure. I’ll bet my paycheck that Wandy is gone this offseason when he can be dealt to any of the 29 other teams. He will look mighty attractive next to the thin crop of free agent pitchers this winter.
eric,
ed and millsie-poo ain’t goin nowheres unless/until we get a new ownership and even THEN they might could leave them be to save money because their contracts run through next year
unfortunately, clank ain’t goin nowheres because they are gonna play him because he’s making 19 mill and the JMike thing – well, all i can say is that LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUVVVVVVVVVV is a many splendored thing, hunh eddie? and like i also said – if the decision to keep him and to always play him in the OF instead of ANY lefty against a lefty pitcher – if that is from millsie-poo instead of fast eddie, millsie-poo shouldn’t be managing ML teams
and the giants lineup is mighty sad. missing buster posey and all the guys who had career years last year.
brandon,
you prolly right. so it is NOT just getting rid of salary because even this winter fast eddie won’t be able to get prospects AND get a team to take all of wandy’s salary. if fast eddie is even still here
