Fast Eddie managed to git hisself yet ANOTHER crappy utility infielder – he’s like a grrrrl who cain’t stay out of the shoe store – named Joe Inglett, ex-Brewer, like Carlos Corporan.
Not surprised. The team looks terrible and the season starts in only a few days and the team has been getting its head beat in almost every game for the last week – yeah, even before Slugger Barmes went down with a broke hand.
I hear tell that Fast Eddie is desperately trying to bring Pudge Rodriguez and his negative 35 RCAA back to Houston so that he doesn’t have to play Towles.
Worst of all, he’s trying to sign ex-Cub Carlos Silva (for the ML minimum, since the Cubs would have to pay the rest of the 11.5 mill he is due.) And they think that NORRIS is bad?
sigh
Of course I’m going to Opening Day.
Yeah, I know. Why? Because I love baseball and I love the Astros even though this team is gonna be the sukc de la sukc.

I wouldn’t exactly say crappy. He did lead the Majors with 20 pinch hits in 68 Abs including having 2 doubles, 4 triples, and 1 Hr. for a .294 pinch hit avg. He is a left hand batter and that primerly is why they signed him for, to pinch hit from the left side. Now Anderson Hernandez and matt downs are crappy hitters. What they see in Hernandez i will never know; he couldn’t make my single A minor league team. Also Inglett does have a.286 career Avg in about 323 scattered Abs over 4 seasons.
Sorry; correction make that a .286 in 786 Abs in 313 games over 4 years. He also gets a high percentage of doubles and triples.
Sceptor……they need Hernansez in AAA this season. He won’t make the club,
but can be used in OKC. My concern is the rotation. NONE of these guys has
shown me much the last few weeks. Becky
True story, Becky
We are trolling again, I wonder if the Astros have an organization chart in theirs office’s? You know a chart that shows the MLB Astros at the top and OKC under that, and then Corpus…I have nt been to a Stros game in so long, I will not patronize this organization, I LOVE BASEBALL , can t wait for the Skeeters in Sugarland to fire up, I need new ownership and I will return to Enron for a game or 100…great article,, thanks for doing what you do and i will watching and paying close attention to the fight for the NL Central ,, the battle between 4 and 5…JEEEZZ..
sceptor,
well, i’m suspiscious for the simple reason that both the brewers and the rays could use a lefty PH. anderson and matt downs are teh suck – the usual matt kata guys that fast eddie is obsessed with.
i keep hearing about how the farm is soooooooo much better, then i look at the AAA roster and sigh
nasty,
i have exactly zero idea what on earth the astros do. i mean, in terms of organizational charts. because none of it makes the least bit of sense. i wish drayton would just get rid of tal smith and fast eddie and hire a COMPETENT baseball man to really run the team and stop with all the crappy veteran signings. we didn’t HAVE to do that to please MLBPA – the payroll is high enough already…
you brign up a good point, if Uncle Drayton does sell the team mid season, can the new owner afford to clean house? We are screwed this year so I say it does nt matter but if i bought the team for the 525 Million and change price tag, i believev i would ride out the season “as is” and then can Tal and Ed…Purpura is probably the only candidate that is available to GM a team …I am kidding, He is available cause he s*cked so bad,..Best to you..NastyDog
will be interesting to see how paulino does this year – he had a LOT of bad luck/crappy run support/crappy bullpen support last year
purpura’s GM hood was to do whatever drayton told him to and to say something unhelpful/evasive to media. i don’t think i EVER heard him EVAH answer any question.
plenty of good GM candidates available but none who will “work with” tal smith. new owners usually wait until at least the offseason to clean house. i hope he doesn’t fire brad mills/arnsberg who the players seem to really like/do well with
