At this particular second, it’s still a rumor – Berkman has supposedly OKd a trade to the Yanks if they DON’T pick up his option.
No idea what we’re gonna get back, but I’d bet it’s nothing good.
I hear tell that apparently, when he was trying to trade Roy-O, Fast Eddie told teams that they would have to pick up ALL of Roy’s contract – and he maneuvered it so that the Phils would be able to snag Roy. The other teams are NOT real too happy.
GEE, what a surprise.

The Astros got totally SC R E W E D in both of these trades. I’m done with them.
The Oswalt trade could turn out to be one of the most lopsided trades in Astro history, but in our favor. Happ look really good out there for us in shuting down the very powerful Brewers on 2 hits in six innings, and Wallace could turn out to be a real stud for us .
I didn’t like it at all, but Oswalt got pretty roughed up in his Philly debut against the Nationals and got no run support from the Phils. It must have seemed like he was still back at Houston.
Oh well it is too early to tell how this trade plays out, but Happ looked real good out there tonite.
Happ is an extremely lucky pitcher, everything put in play seems to go straight to the fielders. I’ll take it though, I’m fine with the Lance deal, it sounds like he wants to come back next year so we get a couple of mediocre prospects for renting out Berkman in a year in which we are not contending.
me i’m hoping they’ll call brett wallace right up
because i am betting he doesn’t hit any better than castro
happ gave up 4 walks in 6 innings – well, actually 3 because quintero framed strike 3 very badly
we’ll see how he does
as for wallace,
i’ll fall over if he hits like a first baseman. his numbers have worsened over the past 3 years – fewer walks, lower slugging – AND that is in the hitters paradise
but i hope they promote him tomorrow when lance leaves and we’;ll see how he does
All the best, Lance. You brought a lot of joy to the game and to your fans. A classy, clean and friendly player. Nothing was prettier than watching you gently lay down the bat after sending a ball towards the bullpen. And knowing that train whistle was about to blow.
God bless and the door is always open.

I can see you very much want for Wallace to fall on his face just like you do Castro. Please don’t deny it cause even a blind man can see it.
sceptor
i swear to GOD on my childrens’ heads that i do NOT want castro to fail. i would be dancing down the street if he hit even NL average for a catcher the rest of this year.
i would absolutely LOVE it if brett wallace proved all the “experts” wrong and hit like lance’s career stats. i want wallace in the lineup TODAY!!! and i want him in the lineup for the rest of the year. i mean this.
you know what else i want?
i want them to bench clank, play bourgeois, call up bogusevic
i want them to bench keppinger, DFA feliz, and call up maysonet, who has been KILLING the ball since he got off the DL like 3 weeks ago. i want them to get rid of any vet pitcher/hitter who is not good and play young guys. i don’t care if we lose like crazy, i want to see what we’ve got, sort of the way we did sept 07.
and i tell you what -
IF castro hits NL league average for a catcher (notice i am not being tricky here and expecting unreasonable numbers) for the rest of the year, i promise you i will wear a castro t-shirt for every game wandy isn’t pitching (sorry, i am NOT giving up my wandy luuuuuvvvvvv unless he gets traded)
Ok lisa i believe you and I accept that and also apologize to you for doubting you.
I also wish they would benck clank cause i rather they pay him his 19 mil for sitting on the bench rather than pay him to play where he is simply killing us and denying a chance for Bogosevic and Bourgeois to play..They need to get rid of Feliz and make room on the roster for another of our young prospects. I do want for them to bring up maysonet and give him a chance to play. I am not sure that i wank keppinger to be bench entirely, but i guess it would be ok.
I don’t expect or want you to give up your wandy love and i surely don’t want for them to trade him. He is just 31 and i think he could still have 4 or 5 good years left and we need him. I love that we are finnally getting young.
I sincerely wish both Lance and Roy all the very best with their new teams and in their lives. They have been great players and we will have many fond memories of them . They are both real CLASS ACTS.
I hate the yankees as i would like for the rangers to win in the A.L., but wouldn’t it be great if both Roy and Lance met in the World Series in Oct. I sure will be pulling for both of them.
