Roger Clemens vs. Tim Hudson RHP
Well, yall most certainly know who Tim Hudson is. He’s one of Billy Beane’s former Big Three, selected in the 6th round of the 97 draft out of Auburn – he supposed to be 6′ (cough, ahem) 160 lb and as you know, “short” guys can’t pitch. Came up in 99, started 21 games, went 11-2 with a 3.23 ERA. He’s 92-39 in 183 starts with a 3.30 ERA – a 138 ERA+ and 2.77 BB/9 and 6.52 K/9.
- of course, lefties hit him a little better than righties – .230 vs .255 BAA, but he gives up homers and walks twice as much to lefties, although his K rate is pretty much the same.
This is his first year in the NL – he has never pitched at the Box, although he pitched against the Astros 3 years ago in Oakland.
So far this year, he’s 1-0 with a ND in 13 IP with 12 H, 4 BB, 8 K, 2 HR and 2 ER.
Should be a great game and I’ll bet the Box is sold out tonight!!!!!
